Hi! My name is Susanna Taylor and I'm the founder of Earthen Warrior! I was raised in the hills of Vermont and have my BA in Environmental Studies from UVM and my Fashion Design degree from Parsons the New School for Design.

I did my undergrad thesis on Ecofashion and got my first official introduction to natural dyes when I studied "How Colors are Made" in the Brazilian Amazon during my study abroad. After finishing my fashion design degree at Parsons, I worked in NYC as a fashion stylist for magazines, music videos and ads, as a seamstress making garments for the runway, as a tailor, and as an interior designer.

I have been collecting ideas, knowledge and inspiration about fashion since before I put on my first backyard runway show using the "dress-up bin" and found objects at age 7. I have been in awe of the natural world since childhood in Vermont. As my mother told me, the earth is our very own Eden. All we need is here, but only if we appreciate and protect what we have.

I have always been determined to create a business where fashion and beauty could co-exist peacefully with the natural world. I started making sleep masks when my neighbors in NYC opened an illegal nightclub in the basement and needed to take lots of daytime naps as a result of being kept awake all night; thus the first Earthen Warrior mask was born. Earthen Warrior began with sleep masks and is now a full line of loungewear and womenswear.
